July News has been posted.

Second MP3 from Jennifer O'Connor's, 'Over the Mountain, Across the Valley and Back to the Stars,' out August 22. The song, "Today," features Jennifer and an acoustic guitar, and that's all you need.

Also, the upcoming European dates from Cat Power, Matmos, and Yo La Tengo are now on the tour page.

July 25: Yo La Tengo MP3, tour update
Second MP3 from the upcoming kick-ass Yo La Tengo album, 'I Am Not Afraid Of You and I Will Kick Your Ass,' out September 12 (September 4 in Europe). The song is entitled "Pass the Hatchet, I Think I'm Goodkind."

First MP3 from the upcoming brand-new Yo La Tengo album, 'I Am Not Afraid Of You and I Will Kick Your Ass,' their first new studio album in 3 years. The song is entitled "Beanbag Chair."

We accidentally posted an earlier version of the BBML MP3, "Everybody Daylight." Mea culpa! We have now posted the correct version, at all the usual music pages, including, of course, the Brightblack music section in particular.

Obliterati.net is live. Over the next 24 days we will release 8 full song streams from the new album. It's also a wiki, so login and contribute your MoB knowledge.

Visit the Matmos page to download a new mp3 from their upcoming full-length 'The Rose Has Teeth In The Mouth Of A Beast'. Follow Mogwai on their current US tour at the 'Follow The Beast' google mash-up. Get updates on the tour blog, download photos and videos and find "Where's Mogwai." The band's new full-length 'Mr. Beast' is in stores now.

February 14: Belle and Sebastian extras; Cat Power site finally launched; tour update
Visit the Belle and Sebastian page for extras such as screensavers and wallpaper.

The official Cat Power The Greatest site has finally been launched! Tons of stuff on there and more to come.

And an extensive tour update has been posted, including the Matador SXSW show, Belle and Sebastian in-stores, a new coast-to-coast tour by The Double, a Mission Of Burma show in Brazil, Mogwai in Mexico City, tons of new (and corrected Jennifer O'Connor shows, some new New Pornographers shows, and a Pretty Girls Make Graves Australian tour beginning at the end of this month and going into March; plus new dates before and after that, with many more to come for them.

We have launched the Sing Along With Belle and Sebastian contest. The first Mogwai MP3 from 'Mr Beast' has been posted. And the Burma subscription series is sold out.

January 31: Cat Power video, tour update posted

The dreamy, sizzuppy multi-faith video to Cat Power's "Living Proof," directed by Harmony Korine (who wrote 'Kids' and directed 'Gummo' and 'julien donkey-boy') is up on Cat Power's music and video page.

The new tour update has been posted (not that it wasn't continually updated in the interim).

January 11: Pretty Girls Make Graves MP3, cover art
Cover art and the first MP3 have been posted from Pretty Girls Make Graves' upcoming album 'Élan Vital.'

January 10: Brand-new tour update
New tour update posted with dozens of new dates: Belle and Sebastian touring with The New Pornographers, The Double in London, Dead Meadow (some dates with Brightblack Morning Light) on the West Coast, "secret" Malkmus and Burma shows in NYC, two Matmos dates with So Percussion, Mogwai in the Eastern half of the US, and a February jaunt from Pretty Girls Make Graves in the Northwest. Plus a new Early Man show, and don't forget about those Cat Power and Laura Cantrell dates!

December 24: End of year news report
The December End-Of-Year news report has been posted, with many top tens and an announcement about the new Pretty Girls Make Graves album, coming in April.

We have posted a gorgeous UNRELEASED Laura Cantrell studio track, "Hammer and Nails," along with the second MP3 from the Early Man, "Death Is The Answer." Both available on the music page.

October 5: Bulletin board server back up
Bway have got the server back up and running — unfortunately we lost some posts from yesterday. Not too many hopefully. Please let us know if you're still having any problems loading, reading or posting.

October 4: Bulletin board server down
As you may have noticed, the bulletin board server is currently down due to a hardware problem. Our ISP was hoping it would be fixed in an hour, but that was about 2 hours ago, so all we can do for now is cross our fingers.

September 26: New tour update

September 22: Stephen Malkmus video
The Stephen Malkmus video for "Mama," directed by E.J. McLeavey-Fisher, has been posted in the popular Real and Windows Media formats in the usual locations.

The video for "Idiocy," directed by Matt Goldman, can be found on The Double's music and video page.

September 7: Early Man MP3, New Pornos video
The first MP3 has been posted from Early Man's forthcoming 'Closing In' album. It's entitled "Evil Is" and you can find it on their music page.

Also posted is the New Pornographers video "Use It," which some of you entrepreneurial types have been checking out on the new twincinema.net site.

September 6: Tour, news updates posted
The tour update has been updated yet again, this time with details on the final Interpol show on this tour, in New York City.

The September news update will be up shortly - keep checking back.

Sepetember 2: Tour update posted
A new tour update has been posted... lots of new Cat Power dates in the US, plus a rescheduled Double show (from New Orleans to Baton Rouge, for obvious reasons).

August 29: Early Man, Brightblack, releases pages
The Early Man page has been updated with a bio, photos, better links to the album medley and more.

The Brightblack Morning Light page has at last been created.

And the Releases page has been updated, mostly with European singles.

July 27: Bulletin Board back up, tour update later today
The Bulletin Boards are all upgraded and back up. Registrations, posts etc. have been preserved, but you may have to log in again.

There will be a new tour update (at last) later today.

June 23: Matador July 4th Concert; tour update
Check the tours page for full details on the FREE Matador July 4th Concert in New York with Yo La Tengo, Stephen Malkmus and Laura Cantrell. Note that doors open at 2 PM, not 4 PM as stated on some postcards: this is an AFTERNOON CONCERT and Laura will be going on at 3:30 PM, Stephen at 4:20 PM and YLT at 6:00 PM.

Plus a full tour update, including our bands at Arthurfest on Labor Day.

January 4: A new tour update for 2005
Happy New Year. The new tour update includes Interpol in Japan in January, the US in Februray and April in Europe. (US March dates will be announced shortly.) Also a slew of new Pretty Girls dates, plus Yo La Tengo at the Sundance Festival.

December 23: Happy Holidays
From the afternoon of the 23rd we'll be closed for the holidays. Matador reopens on Monday, January 3rd.

November 11: Another tour update
Four new Dead Meadow dates on their way back East from California. Interpol perform on 'Later with Jools Holland' on BBC2. And three Pretty Girls Make Graves dates in Japan, their first visit to the country.

The 'Snapshot' EP recorded live in studio for WFNX in Boston will be released as an exclusive on the iTunes Music Store on Election Day 2004 in the USA, November 2nd. More info on the Burma page.

October 15: First Prosaics MP3
The first MP3 from new signing Prosaics is entitled "Teeth" and comes from their Matador Europe EP 'Aghast Agape,' due out on November 8. (It's already out in the US on Dim Mak.) Available on the Prosaics' music page.

October 14: Pavement MP3, Interpol video
The first Pavement MP3 from 'Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain: LA's Desert Origins,' an unreleased song from the original Gary Young sessions, is up on the music page. As is the wondrous video for Interpol's "Slow Hands."
